These resources span my career; from my period of teaching unqualified, through to an AST of English & Director of Teaching & Learning. Although my specialism is English, I have taught GCSE Citzienship, Language and Lit, Media Studies, Maths & History. I have also taught all of those at Key Stage 3, so there is an eclectic mix here. As the main trainer in my previous school, I have uploaded many insets and training session powerpoints too.

This is a handout that can be stuck into pupils books that remonds them of various thinking skills. Can be used to encourage them to think about what they have done in class in relation to the 5 skills.

I designed these very simple self evaluation questionairres for pupils as part of their mentoring process. Pupils fill these in by asking teachers their levels and it encourages them to take ownership of their learning.

As part of the continued development of good and outstanding training, and with Ofste'd focu on demonstrating progress, I have been sending out little tutorials with ideas on them to show progress. There are instructions / ideas on each with a screen template that can be copied and pasted into any lesson. There are quite a few of them to try, so please do have a look for them under 'Demonstrating Progress Miss R'. They&'re not much but designed to be quick ideas. This one is about getting the start of lessons right!

With Ofsted's driver of making progress explicit, these little fun ways of showing progress from the start to the end of the lesson might be of use. They&'re fun and lighthearted and just another way of engaging with the progress of the individual child.

This is training for staff that I adapted so that a core of older children could be trained as mentors in school. Al resources are uploaded with it but, to adapt and implement, you will want to use your own school reports.

AFL Whole Staff Training PP - For Teachers

I’ve used and adapted this for years with lectures at MMU and for all teachers in my school. I don’t normally share my teacher training PPs but somebody lifted this version from our shared area and is using it to train and charging for the training in good to outstanding workshops. As the rightful owner of it, I take it as my right to share it for free! So I hope that it is as useful to other staff as it is to mine.
